Bio and Goals
I was introduced to Entlebucher Mountain Dog by great wide web. I was in search of a family dog that would be a perfect fit for my home. I was looking for a dog that would be lovable, friendly, active, playful, guardian, and working ability. When I was able to find and bring home my first Entle, Rowdy, in 2022, my family fell in love with him. With training he became a dog that I loved to be around my four kids in the backyard and somewhat herd them and get between them in conflicts. He sure loves to be with me and be my porch dog when he gets that energy out, also.
A second dog was in my vision with the possibility of breeding. I was in search of another Entle because my family couldn’t see any other dog that would be fit for our home. I became a member of the NEMDA in the beginning of 2024. The NEMDA has opened my eyes with all the education and resources that they offer for this special breed. I found my second Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Dora, in March of 2024. She was shy at first with most of my family, but then she warmed up to us. She has been the speediest little one making laps after lap every morning in our backyard. I call her my chicken herder because she herds my chicken back in their coops when I am ready for them to go back in. My kids love to through a ball for her to fetch.
I would like to bring more awareness to the Entle in my area and anywhere that I am able to. By being an Entlebucher breeder, I foresee that I can strive for that goal. I want others to see that Entlebucher Mountain Dog could bring many great assets to their home. Through my research, I know there is not many Entle in the States. I believe that I could contribute by being an Entlebucher breeder.
Everyone has strategies to achieve their goals of being Entlebucher breeder. As for me, I am getting all the testing according to the OFA to be completed before beginning the breeding process. Be a good standing breeder by becoming NEMDA Code of Ethics Breeder. I am getting things built and prep for space and accommodation that will be needed for momma and the potential puppies. When offer the puppies to others build relations to other by getting understanding if they are suitable for an Entle. I would try encouraging them to educate themselves on Entlebucher because it gives them the best success in raising this breed.
