Breeding Philosophy and Goals

At Middle Fork Entlebuchers, our goal in planning a single litter with Emme is to help preserve the qualities that make the Entlebucher Mountain Dog so special: sound health, a stable and confident temperament, athleticism, intelligence, loyalty, and the breed’s working character. Because the Entlebucher population in the United States is small and genetically limited, we view this litter as a carefully planned act of long-term stewardship.

We will approach the pairing thoughtfully, considering documented health clearances, pedigree and genetic diversity, temperament, structure, and adherence to the breed standard. Emme embodies the personality, energy, and devotion we vall alue in the breed, and we will seek a mate whose qualities complement hers and support the health and vitality of the resulting puppies.

We are committed to raising the puppies in our home with purposeful socialization and enrichment, then matching each puppy with a committed family whose lifestyle and goals suit that puppy’s individual temperament and potential. Our responsibility will continue throughout each dog’s life through honest communication, ongoing guidance, and lasting relationships with their families.
