The Comprehensive Entlebucher Breed Assessment (CEBA) is for any Entle owner who would like to learn how their Entle compares to the NEMDA breed standard in both temperament and conformation. Come away from the evaluations with a customized profile of your dog’s behavioral traits and structural characteristics.
Can you and your family help with CEBA? Join us Friday morning as a CEBA volunteer! Volunteering for CEBA is fun in two ways: It is a great chance to see the commonalities and differences of typical Entles as they respond in a variety of situations, and a chance to mingle with fellow members with a purpose. Should this be your first time to volunteer, don’t worry, we’re all learning and training together. We mostly need the volunteers for the friendly strangers (10) and for helping out with the stimulus exercises.

Nose Work - Carrie Alongi, NEMDA member and Dog Training Instructor
Give your dog an opportunity to try something he/she “nose” how to do naturally! Nose Work is a fun activity where we use your dog's curiosity, desire to hunt, and love of food to teach him/her to find a specific scent. For this event, we’ll set up some introductory level searches for dogs trying Nose Work for the first time (using food). Dogs already trained on odor will search for birch hides in the lovely setting of the Swiss Park. Total number of searches offered will depend on the number of the dogs participating.
Tricks – Edna Bond, NEMDA member and Do More With Your Dog Certified Trick Dog Instructor
Build a better bond with your best friend through trick training! Why tricks, you ask? Trick training gets your dog thinking and improves their focus. You will also develop a stronger relationship when you work towards a mutual goal. Tricks are so much fun, and training is done with positive reinforcement in the form of praise, toys and food. Come try your paw at some tricks and get ready to wow your friends with all that your dog can do!
Rally-O - Paula Webber, AMDCA member, Rally Instructor and CARO Rally Judge
Rally is a dog sport based on obedience but less formal and lots of fun for dogs and handlers. Think of it as “freestyle” where teams follow a course of up to 20 exercises, based on obedience, but with more flare. Talking to your dog is encouraged in the sport of Rally. For this event, I’ll set up a novice mini-course of 8-10 exercises that I will demo. I will walk you through the mini-course and you can then “try it” with your own dog. Dogs already trained in Rally are welcome to try more advanced rally skills! I will provide a mini course map with exercise descriptions in advance. Bring lots of treats!
